2014 "Your Story, My Art" Contest Winners!
Most Creative: Wendy Lefebvre
"I began as a glint in your eye, then like dandelion seeds took flight on high.
The sun and moon gifted my all with warming swirls of glittering gold that made me twinkle...then made me glow. A friendly little Fairy fluttering by, said oh what beauty you have inside! She breathed in deep and her wand touched my nose....then waves of magic cascaded from my head to my toes. Like a falling star I traveled to the ground....just exactly where she knew I'd be found. The last bit of magic gave a punch of a swirl and I heard her say " Your a precious baby girl"
What a wonderful universe can you see, took a glint in an eye and created...ME!"
Thank you to everyone who entered the
"Your Story, My Art Contest"
Some of you shared very personal stories and others more creative and whimsical. I found it so so hard to pick a winner, so there are two:
The grand prize winner of a set of two custom champagne flutes is S. Patel from New Jersey for her touching story AND a bonus prize for most creative entry winning a single wine glass illustrating her "Fairy-Tale" goes to a local girl Wendy Lefebvre
In 100 words or less tell me a story, something that will inspire me to pick your tale and interpret it "Mehndi style" into glass art.
Romantic, quirky, humorous or maybe the story of a friend or loved one that deserves a unique gift.
Grand Prize Winner- S.Patel
"I was born with a hypoplasia thumb on my right hand causing my thumb to appear long, skinny and not really functional. Early on, I decided not to peruse surgery despite the talks and whispers behind my back. There were many times I regretted this decision until I met my fiancé. He knows the one thing bothering me is taking pictures of my mehndi filled hand during our wedding in a few months. But all his love and support makes me forget it’s even an issue and that beauty is in the inside. I will always love him for that."
